Inside a security risk assessment
We review the perimeter (fencing, gates, landscaping), access points (doors, locks, badge systems, tailgating), lighting and sightlines, cameras and monitoring, procedures (opening, closing, visitors, deliveries, cash handling), staffing and incident history. The result is a prioritized plan: low-cost fixes first, then options for officers, patrols or technology.

California requirements
California workplace violence rules (SB 553)
Under SB 553 (Labor Code 6401.9), most California employers must have a written Workplace Violence Prevention Plan in effect since July 1, 2024. The plan must identify and correct hazards, provide training when the plan is first set up and every year after, keep a violent incident log, and be reviewed at least once a year. Security assessments, procedures and officers are often key parts of that plan.
