As you commute back and forth to work, you want to be able to focus on doing your job to the best of your ability. While your business park or work location will hopefully have security services in order to support you in this area, here are a few things that you can do to work better with your office’s security staff and keep yourself safe:

Know Where You Parked

Walking to your car at night can be dangerous if you are not aware of your surroundings. It can also be hazardous if you do not know where your vehicle is. When you park your car before work, take note of where you left it and any pertinent details about its location. Taking this step enables you to determine if your car or anything around it has been tampered with when you return to your car. You are better able to report suspicious activity to one of the security guards in Riverside when you can watch for changes in or around your car. Along with knowing where you parked, it is best to walk to your car with another person if you are able.

Observe and Report

If you see suspicious or illegal activity, you can take action by consciously noticing as much information as possible. Did you see a person loitering around your coworker’s cars? Try to remember what he or she was wearing, as well as any identifying details about the person. Did you come into contact with a person who appeared to be following you or a coworker? Get to a safe location as quickly as possible and report the information that you remember to your security services at your place of work. Security guards in San Diego can work better with specific information than with vague details. If you need to report suspicious or criminal activity to your security guard Orange County, try to relate your information in a logical order and as thoroughly as possible.

Keep Your Valuables Close

Firstly, do your best to keep any truly valuable items that you own at home or in a secure location. That being said, if you need to take some of your treasured items out and about with you, there are some precautions that you can take. Keep your important belongings with you as much as possible. If you are able, secure your belongings in your office or cubicle in an unobtrusive location. It is always a good idea to make note of which belongings are with you and where you have taken them just in case one or all of them is damaged or taken. In the unfortunate event that something valuable is taken from you, try to provide a detailed description of the items to your security guards in Irvine. Additionally, try to give any other pertinent information that you can think of. By taking these steps, you, your car and your belongings can be much safer in the workplace.
